Vision, Values and Ethos
I am delighted to welcome you to St Charles’ Catholic Primary School.
We are very proud of our school, our pupils and their success. We believe St Charles’ is an amazing school and the relationship we develop with our children and their families enables us to create our distinctive ethos. I am delighted and proud to be Head Teacher at such a fun and vibrant school where pupils, staff, governors, parents and the school community work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another. We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning – achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise – to ensure that all our children fulfil their potential. We are part of Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust.
Our school is a welcoming and happy place, where the needs of the children are central to our philosophy. Your child will spend several years with us and so it is important to begin in Early Years as we hope to go on. We recognise the fact that, as a parent, you are an essential partner in the educational process and we place great value on the support we receive from parents in so many different ways. In return, we will support your understanding of the education your child is receiving from us by regularly inviting you into school to discuss his or her progress and to keep you up to date on new ideas and initiatives.
By the time your child is ready to move on to the next phase of education we will have, together, encouraged him or her to have developed a sense of personal value and achievement, and a self-confidence that will carry on to adult life.
Like your child, I am looking forward to the future at St Charles’ and, also like your child, I am filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation at what the next few years will bring. I am confident that, by parents, staff and governors working together in partnership, the future holds nothing but the very best for each child.
